Dennis Tito, an engineer and multimillionaire, is most widely known as the first space tourist to fund his own trip into space. On April 28, 2001 he began nearly eight days in orbit as a crew member of ISS EP-1, a visiting mission to the International Space Station. Read more about his trip.

Cache River Wetlands Center in Ullin, Illinois is postponing its annual Nature Fest that was set for Saturday. The new date is June 4. Rising floodwaters have made The Center inaccessible.

The Rotary Quilt Show features World War II Quilts through Saturday at the Robert Cherry Civic Center, 2701 Park Avenue in Paducah. Open 9 to 6 today and tomorrow, 9 to 4 Saturday. $5 admission

Love is in the air as William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream opens at Murray State’s Robert E. Johnson Theatre. Performances are at 7:30 tonight, tomorrow and Saturday nights. There’s a 2:30 matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $15.
