NPR reports a Wisconsin man is in jail for walking into a Denny’s, announcing he is the new manager and cooking himself a burger. How long is the jail term for Awesome in the second degree?

Kentucky~ The Murray City Council discusses whether or not to make students buy a city sticker. MSU gets some B-Ball payback! The gambling amendment is DOA in the senate. A pseudoephedrine bill is withdrawn.  The state Supreme Court will hear redistricting arguments today.  A group challenges Beshear’s prayer breakfast.

A little-known 2001 law could have prevented an infant’s death and a teen mother’s arrest. The Delta Mariner resumes its voyage to Cape Canaveral. Educators from 17 states come to learn about the state’s new education standards.

Managed care operators fumble early on after taking over Mediciad. The Murray State Racers bounce back. A series of pharmacy thefts worry business owners. The Delta-Mariner is due for repairs in Paducah.

Kentucky~ River levels are on the rise.  A McCracken Sheriffs Deputy resigns after visiting his lady friend on the clock.  Mammoth Cave is a moneymaker for the Commonwealth. Smart kids rejoice;  you can get out of high school early. Pill mill legislation is working its way through the legislature.  The state wants to make substantial budget cuts to post-secondary schools. Lawmakers may be through with the redistricting fight.

NPR reports the Huntsman campaign is getting ready to announce the end and throw a little love Romney’s way. Mitt should get ready for the Huntsman bump.

Kentucky~ Murray State keeps the winning streak alive. There are many  MLK day events across the purchase. Local Amish men are taking their hatred of that evil orange triangle to the State Supreme Court. The University of Pikeville debate gets rough amidst the redistricting fight.  A child welfare summit has some suggestions for the Commonwealth.Two Kentuckians were aboard the ill-fated Italian cruise ship. The Agricultural Department is in hot water over bad hiring decisions.

It’s official, Americans like to spend money.

NPR reports pound for pound, dollar for dollar, we like to spend far more than our counterparts throughout the world (and we hate to save too).

Kentucky~ A shootout in Hopkins County hospitalizes four. Apparently you can get cash for farming land that doesn’t belong to you. State Reps want Kentuckians to have a tax-free weekend next school year. The Commonwealth begins a new tourism campaign.

Tennessee~  The Arts Commission commissioned its new website (I couldn’t resist). The state is honored for financial reporting.
