Kentucky~ Thousands of Kentuckians visited the downed Eggners Ferry Bridge.  Emergency management officials say they are better prepared to handle disasters. Two have been arrested in connection to the slaying of a Fort Campbell soldier.  Activists invite lawmakers to a  tea party.

Tennessee~ Six state environmental panels are being reduced to three. A state-wide earthquake drill is set for Tuesday.

Good News. If you’re ever captured by Somali Pirates, Obama’s got your back, even if you’re Danish!

NPR reports Obama sent in his A-squad to deal with a hostage situation. With their success rate, I think Obama should start using the special forces to deal with all of his problems. Let’s start with a raid on the investment banks.

Kentucky~ The PRA is now a city agency. Here’s to hoping shiny tape will save our Amish from jail.  Cadiz seeks to ban synthetic marijuana. Looks like Kentucky teachers may have to be held back. The Commonwealth considers a tax amnesty plan.

Tennessee~ Titan tire hopes to hire 300 people  by the year’s end.

A recount shows that Santorum won the Iowa Republican caucus by 34 votes. Somewhere off in the distance Al Gore sheds an empathetic tear.

NPR reports Iowa voters preferred Santorum to Romney. Romney calls the new tally a “virtual tie.” 

Kentucky~ Murray State keeps the winning streak alive.  KY house says they are fine with school bus ads.  Weight enforcement stepped up on western Kentucky bridge.  KY Senate debates redistricting. KY gets new partner in war against prescription drug abusers.

Tennessee~ West Tennessee Port gains international interest.  Three Union City police officers to be fired.

NPR reports Mitt and Newt have decided to duke it out over abortion, well actually they’re letting their Super PAC’s do the dirty work. That’s a bit like asking your wimpy little brother to fight the neighborhood bully.

Kentucky~   Wild winter weather is upon us. Pseudoephedrine is the talk of the day in the General Assembly. The Commonwealth’s education ranking rose substantially.

Tennessee~  Union City officials think effects of the Goodyear plant closing have yet to be felt.

NPR reports the highest court in the land hears another FCC indecency/censorship case. I bet this would all go away if one of the justices let loose with a couple choice words.

Tennessee ~ The legislative term begins today- go fightin’ 107th! The state is meeting the education reforms tied to the Race to the Top Award.
