The GOP has decided to fight for millionaires, even if they don’t want it.

NPR reports republicans have been railing against the millionaire surtax, but millionaires don’t seem to be against the idea. Maybe someone should tell Republican representatives.

Kentucky~ A Paducah businessman donates solar panels to the new animal shelter. A man tries to rob a Paducah motel with just his finger-gun. The Henderson plastics plant which was home to a fire earlier this week had numerous safety violations.  The Human Rights Commission released its report on discrimination in the Commonwealth.Beshear’s inaugural festivities have been revealed.

ILLINOIS~ Honeywell’s Metropolis plant leaks and contains some corrosive acid. SIU cuts 9 teachers and ravages wages at its Carbondale campus.

KY~ If you’re a registered party (animal), GO VOTE! There’s a contentious race to be the next Hopkinsville mayor. 2 men have a September trial date for robbing a US Bank in Paducah. A creepy Benton man gets the max sentence for downloading tons of child porn. Primary battles today: 9 Senate and 25 house districts. Whitfield’s kicking back for today’s primary, but has a challenger in November.

TN~ Clarksville businesses can get $2mil low-interest loans to recover from flood damage. No new Montgomery County property taxes leave the school system strapped.

KY~ MSU benefits could soon be fair (to homosexuals). While Gun-wielding robbers roam the streets of Paducah, non-profits beg for money and Zumwalt makes off like a bandit. Hopkinsville plans to improve its parks system. A Veteran’s Center is renamed for Madisonville Rep. Eddie Ballard. Prosecutors are going for the death penalty in the case against former lawmaker Steve Nunn. Miner’s union backs Galbraith for Governor. House Majority Whip Stacy hopes the general assembly will pass a budget.

TN~ Clarksville’s Trane plant rehires 92 workers. Police: 17-year-old started the Kmart fire (and the store has re-opened).

SPORTS~ Baseball: MSU < WKU, UTM > ASU, APSU > UM. MSU Men’s golf team wins the Big Blue Invitational.
