Around two-thirds of Americans are overweight, and some say we need to talk about it.

NPR reports that often when the issue of weight is brought up medically, both doctors and patients want to avoid talking about the elephant in the room.

Kentucky~ Racer 1 was injured during the football game this weekend. Fort Campbell opened injured soldier barracks. Is there a new tax horizon? Beshear is planning a cheaper inauguration. Schools should get NCLB waivers. The capitol chapel is getting a makeover.

The Human population just hit seven billion this morning.

NPR reports just two centuries after the world population was 1 billion, we’ve now hit the 7 mark. Some are worried about overpopulation while others contend many hands make light work.

Kentucky~     Some local Amish really don’t like that orange warning sign. Fulton is trying to take out the trash.   OVC football scores are in. The Department of Education wants to track alternative schools. Gubernatorial candidates face off in their last debate tonight.

Tennessee~ The state is trying to figure out what to do with wild hogs (the animal, not the movie).

Illinois~  SIU is hosting Native American life and culture celebration. Elementary Schools are improving across the state.

Retirement may not be as enjoyable as it once was.

NPR reports retirees are finding the golden years to be much more difficult than they expected.

Kentucky~An accidental shooting claims a life in Graves County.  No Child Left Behind grades are in.   Senator Paul wants to block pipeline regulations.  Williams and Galbraith sound off on Race to the Top funds.
