Two McCracken men are arrested for inappropriate relationships with Lone Oak High School students.  The Carlisle school bus driver who was at the wheel in a deadly crash faces charges.  The state uses grants to pretty up state parks.  Beshear is asked to make pension records public. Sandhill Cranes are making a comeback, quick somebody shoot ’em!

Kentucky~  MSU beat Memphis to remain undefeated.  A Benton man is arrested for rape.  Eagle watching tours begin on the lakes.  Graves County officials investigate Mayfield shooting Wayward cows on I-69 have nearly all been found. The high water is down, so Cave-In-Rock ferry is back in business.

KENTUCKY~ Some SIU-Carbondale students have ‘strong’ ideas on how to better Paducah’s riverfront. A newly contracted firm will be working to get rid of thousands of nuclear containers stored in Paducah. I-24’s Welcome Center is back open. After 3 years in office, Governor Steve Beshear says he’s “energized” (in time for re-election). Gubernatorial candidate Phil Moffett will fund-raise in Florida next week.

TENNESSEE~ UTM plans to erect a new radio tower. Someone drops a +$1.5k coin into a Salvation Army kettle (for a 3rd year in a row). Paris plans to build a safety shelter for severe weather. KENTUCKY~ It’s Cracker Barrel vs. Zaxby’s in Calloway Circuit Court next week. Murray’s (alleged) home invaders pleaded not guilty to all charges yesterday. Mayfield’s zoning board will vote on whether or not Somali Muslims can establish a mosque there. Police claim a Christian County man murdered his mother. A Fort Campbell Muslim soldier is refusing to be deployed to Afghanistan. Police are searching for a Fulton County escapee. Hopkinsville Community College’s summer enrollment had a big bump over last year. A family advocacy group decries horse track instant racing (in court). Kentucky eyes trade with Cuba. Rand Paul prefers the war on drugs should be funded by locals rather than the federal government prompting Jack Conway’s criticism.

KY~ We reached our public radio fundraising goal this morning. Storm’s a comin’ (this weekend). Paducah halfway house escapees: 3 down, 1 to go. Tragic teen’s mushroom friend  is out of jail.  Calloway County has 4 superintendent finalists and its former Sheriff’s building sells for $71k. A Fort Campbell soldier is awarded the Silver Star. An antivirus glitch screws up school computers across the state.

TN~ A bill that could let the Governor circumvent the Attorney General’s office is making progress. Republicans (obviously) oppose removing tax cap.

IL~ 15k strong march FOR state income tax.
