Leaders in Washington have reached a deal they hope to pass today, but the political posturing is far from over.

NPR reports that while almost no one got exactly what they wanted, a likely deal is in the works, and everyone try and use it to their advantage.

Kentucky~ Hummingbirds are passing through. Teachers are using a new program for new standards. The mix of medicine and religion worries many. Many are getting FEMA funds.

Illinois~ Gov Quinn signed an act to give money for college to immigrants.

Tennessee~ HCMC is worried about more Medicare cuts. Some Mexican-American War volunteers have been found.

As the Latino population of the US grows, appealing to Hispanic voters becomes increasingly important to politicians.

NPR reports both Democrats and Republicans hope to make gains with the nation’s fastest growing minority, however Hispanic voters are frustrated with leaders from both parties.

Kentucky~ The Union puts off the Honeywell vote (what’s a few more weeks?). A Paducah man wins the British Senior Open. Debates continue over a hospital/religion merger. A Fort Campbell soldier faces murder charges. The state needs more dentists (insert Kentucky teeth joke here).

The space shuttle Atlantis has landed at Kennedy Space center ending a 30-year era in travel beyond our world.
