Tennessee~ Six state environmental panels are being reduced to three. A state-wide earthquake drill is set for Tuesday.

Good news. Romney pays less in taxes than I do, and likely you as well. I’m not sure why that’s good news, but I’m an optimist.

NPR reports Mitt Romney’s 2010 tax return shows he made $21.7 million dollars, and paid 13.9 percent in taxes. He’s rollin in it.

Kentucky~ Canaan gets OVC honors for a fourth time…he’s a bad man. A twister touched down in Hazel on Sunday. Former McCracken Judge-Executive gets that money. Madisonville Police ID remains. School bus ads die easy (sorry Bruce Willis). Lawmakers say the budget is tough, wow. Pharmacists say providers are screwing them.

If a candidate bows out in a presidential race and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

NPR reports the Huntsman campaign is getting ready to announce the end and throw a little love Romney’s way. Mitt should get ready for the Huntsman bump.

Kentucky~ Murray State keeps the winning streak alive. There are many  MLK day events across the purchase. Local Amish men are taking their hatred of that evil orange triangle to the State Supreme Court. The University of Pikeville debate gets rough amidst the redistricting fight.  A child welfare summit has some suggestions for the Commonwealth.Two Kentuckians were aboard the ill-fated Italian cruise ship. The Agricultural Department is in hot water over bad hiring decisions.

Kentucky~   Most area schools kids have the day off! MSU basketball is killing it! The weather is making roads dangerous- be careful out there.  Apparently local Amish didn’t get enough of jail during rumspringa. Other meth laden state officials are offering some advice to the General Assembly.

The EPA has a ‘watch list’ of toxic air polluters that’s longer than you might think.

NPR reports a newly revealed watch list of toxic polluters shows air pollution is still a huge problem, over 40 years after the passage of the Clean Air Act.

The Human population just hit seven billion this morning.

NPR reports just two centuries after the world population was 1 billion, we’ve now hit the 7 mark. Some are worried about overpopulation while others contend many hands make light work.

Kentucky~     Some local Amish really don’t like that orange warning sign. Fulton is trying to take out the trash.   OVC football scores are in. The Department of Education wants to track alternative schools. Gubernatorial candidates face off in their last debate tonight.

Tennessee~ The state is trying to figure out what to do with wild hogs (the animal, not the movie).

Illinois~  SIU is hosting Native American life and culture celebration. Elementary Schools are improving across the state.
