IMPORTED S01.E07
Imported airs Sundays @ midnight on WKMS or listen to it On-Demand here.
In this episode, we get a little house/electronica up front, but sink into some Swedish indie rock jams by Peter, Bjorn, and John. We introduce some fine salsa by Rey Ruiz, get down with the upbeat Muse among several others. Best of all (and we build it up the whole show…) we have an epic (+15 min) long track from Cut Copy! This episode is fun! We start out in Iceland with a pair of great selections from there, play a bit of Moby, then bounce from Paris to Quebec jamming to some indie rock and the lyrically-soothing rap of MC Solaar. We feature a nice Bollywood track from India and get a little poppy with Lykke Li. Come take a quick spin around the world with us!

Bonjour, from France!
As a dedicated friend, I’ve flown the WKMS coop to go to Bretagne, France for a best friend’s wedding. The wedding is on Saturday at an abbey in the country. A bachelorette party in Paris, eating cheese and drinking wine on the banks of the River Seine with Notre Dame in the background, and windsurfing next to enormous rose granite boulders… these are the things this week has brought, and it’s been fantastic.
Here are some lessons I’ve learned from the French:
