KENTUCKY~ Earlington voters end prohibition. A 5-car wreck this morning shut down KY-58. McCracken County authorities search for a knife-wielding robber. MSU’s Curris Center will be back open today after things got a little steamy. The Madisonville-North Hopkins County High School band is invited to play @ New York’s Carnegie Hall. Oak Grove’s longtime police chief gets fired. The (acclaimed) editor of the Madisonville Messenger is retiring. Lower temps may stave off some tree pollen-caused allergies. The state will pick up your tab if you take the GED.

TENNESSEE~ A Houston County fire station burns to the ground (irony!?). One proposed bill wants to add an extra tax to soft drink sales, and another wants to protect teachers (who allow students to decry theories of evolution).

Jack & Rand squared off in Louisville yesterday and US Senator McConnell defends his filibuster blocking an extension on jobless benefits.

TENNESSEE~ The 101st Airborne’s Major General John Campbell assures Fort Campbell families from Afghanistan. Police nab a Fort Campbell soldier after (alleged) hit-and-run. Blue dogs back Herron for US Rep.

Raffaele Ponti will soon wave his baton around. A drunk driver is charged with murder in Carlisle County. Another Fort Campbell unit heads out to Afghanistan. LBL plans to burn another 10k acres this/next year. Beshear is still fuming about overly-large legislative egos. Electricity rate hike gripe sessions are scheduled across the Commonwealth.

Since vaguely defining my blogging intentions, I’ve since decided to sum up your regional morning coverage, but nice ‘n quick in the Chris Taylor-style. So welcome to your morning cram.

KY~ The state legislature opens up today. Snow Thursday. Beshear has a plan to dig us out of the red. The Republican effort for Bunning’s seat is now a three-way. Don’t bet on Paducah to snag a new middle school this year. Despite a potential ruling next week, the Paducah/Greyhound bus spat will drag on. Some alleged Oak Grove monster was captured for child-rape x10. A former Calvert City worker denies a methlab fire was his.

TN~ Bredesen pushes for education reform. Herron has $675k in his US Congress bid. Clarksville will pay to study things for the next 20 years.

SPORTS~ MSU won, UTM lost, APSU lost.
