There may be another choice in the presidential race…

NPR reports the field may be ripe for a third party candidate. Something new anyone?

Kentucky~ Paducah will be home to a new steel factory. A McCracken County School mechanic is on trial for getting rich off bus parts. People living near the Dorena-Hickman ferry are in need of those amphibious cars. Beshear picks his committee for his super-sweet second inaugural party.

A bus-sized satellite will plummet to Earth this week. Where it will land is anyone’s guess.

NPR reports a large NASA research satellite that lost its orbit will come falling to the earth sometime this week. You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than being hit by it though.

Kentucky~ A Graves County man is arrested for alleged roofies and rape. Paducah is bringing the past into the future. Mayfield elementary is energy efficient. The Medicaid overhaul is on hold. Fort Campbell will work on emergency drills.

Tennessee~ The Clarksville vets nursing home has found a home.

Expect delays on I-24 near Paducah today. Christian County’s Emergency Manager is retiring and their health department hopes to construct a $2.5m annex. We’ll find out today who will oversee elections since Sec ‘o State Trey is in the running. Beshear will call the General Assembly back when he darn well feels like it.

TN~ Montgomery County Schools will request a property tax hike. Henry County nabs over $1m in Race to the Top funds. A proposed law that would close access to a list of who can carry loaded handguns has (probably) failed. The Senate is about to vote on a bill that admittedly does nothing>25 MPH speeders could face $500 tickets.

IL~ African-American students may be more likely to be suspended/expelled than whites.
