Facebook decides to “share” stock options with the public, but will the company “like” the risks?

NPR reports the move to go public presents many hurdles to the social media giant.

Kentucky~ Lawmakers consider a proposal allowing counties to consolidate via vote. The Senate passes a bill allowing Amish to use reflective tape in place of orange signs on buggies. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry will delay service this morning until 9. The Eggner’s Ferry Bridge awaits approval from inspectors.

Illinois~ A two-year study will look for the reason the treatment of lung cancer is lagging in southern Illinois.

Be careful who you hire…

NPR reports Penn State fires Joe Paterno after an alleged cover up of alleged abuse by one of his assistant coaches.

Kentucky~ Owensboro says fake pot is no good. Williams looks back on his campaign. Rand Paul is either anti-regulation or pro-pollution, can’t quite tell yet.

Illinois~ The SIUC strike is over. The house says no to a gambling expansion bill.

The Human population just hit seven billion this morning.

NPR reports just two centuries after the world population was 1 billion, we’ve now hit the 7 mark. Some are worried about overpopulation while others contend many hands make light work.

Kentucky~     Some local Amish really don’t like that orange warning sign. Fulton is trying to take out the trash.   OVC football scores are in. The Department of Education wants to track alternative schools. Gubernatorial candidates face off in their last debate tonight.

Tennessee~ The state is trying to figure out what to do with wild hogs (the animal, not the movie).

Illinois~  SIU is hosting Native American life and culture celebration. Elementary Schools are improving across the state.
