…face it, I’m older and have more insurance.

NPR reports as economic struggles have kept more people from retiring, and brought many out of retirement, age discrimination claims are up. But it’s tough to prove.

Kentucky~ The Racers are OVC champs. ‘Your lights were out‘, says the giant boat to the tiny bridge. There are more ways to win, or more likely lose at Kentucky Downs.

Illinois~ There’s a new sheriff in town (sheriff meaning chief, and town meaning Metropolis).

Tennessee~ Haslam gave up his class size idea.  Residents are getting out early in the primary. It’s getting harder to ‘say’gay’.

Ten years after it’s signing, the Patriot Act is still controversial.

NPR reports that on the tenth anniversary of President George W. Bush’s Patriot Act, Americans still disagree about whether or not it violates their right to privacy.

Kentucky~ Paducah property taxes go up (a little bit). Paducah Middle’s Walker moves to the district office under scrutiny. The 101st deals with budget cuts. Records show no evidence of David Williams sexual abuse. Beshear is well in the lead with money to blow.

Tennessee~ The Legislative Black Caucus wants in on redistricting.

A T-Rex is now united with a long lost rib.

NPR reports the first complete Tyranasaurus Rex skeleton discovered in 1902 has been without a rib since the second world war. That is until now.

Western Kentucky and Tennessee are eyeing river port development.

Kentucky~ A fatal accident closed I-24 in McCracken yesterday. A Judge says kidnapping case stays in McCracken. If you need eye surgery, an optometrist can do it.

Illinois~ Those who were adopted will be able to see their original birth certificate. There are more poor people in the state. Gov Quinn says casinos could hurt education. Lt Gov Simon says she opposes utility rate increases.

Tennessee~ A Clarksville women’s clinic is getting bigger. Harwell hit back on voter ID comments.

A chasm is growing between congressional Republicans, as the ‘Hell No Caucus’ claims US credit default is a fallacy.

NPR reports claims by Republican lawmakers such as Minnesota’s Michelle Bachmann and Illinois’ Joe Walsh put them at odds with party leaders.

Kentucky~ The Heath school shooter is denied a competency hearing. There will be road work on I-24 today. A local couple wins the Duck Tape prom competition (but will they stick together?).

Tennessee~ Clarksville may get a convention center. Bredesen’s mom won’t get Haslam’s update e-mail anymore.

Illinois~ The Gaming Board wants Quinn to veto a gambling expansion bill.
