The Northeast is hammered by rain and their waterways are reaching their limit.

NPR reports rivers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic have broken their banks and the already saturated soil can’t take much more.

Kentucky~ A Caldwell County man is in the running for the Farmer of the Year title. A Hopkinsville High School teacher wins an award for teaching kids financial literacy. Kentucky Downs gets to keep their new Instant Racing games.

Illinois~ Foster care group, Catholic Charities may be losing their funding due to their stance on civil unions.
