It’s Wednesday, March 23.

Through April 15th the City of Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development accepts applications for minor home repairs, primarily exterior renovation,  at no cost to qualifying homeowners.  Call 931-648-6133 for information.

Murray Calloway County Hospital hosts free blood sugar screenings Friday from 6:30 to 10 with a registered dietician on hand to answer questions at its Center for Health and Wellness on Poplar. Friday is Diabetes Alert Day.  Also Friday, there are blood pressure checks from 10 to noon inside the front lobby of the new MCCH tower on Vine.

Friday is the deadline for entries from Graves Countians in the Mayfield Tourism Commission’s T-shirt design competition.  Four-color max designs must feature the words “Mayfield Graves County”.  Get details and submit designs electronically through tourism@mayfieldchamber.com with t-shirt contest in the subject line.  There’s a $5 entry fee.

morning cram [deadbeat edition]

So-called deadbeat parents, usually dads, have long been a conundrum for the law.

NPR reports now they are the US Supreme Court’s legal problem.

KENTUCKY~ Paducah police union signs deal for another three years, increased wages.  Outside firm to study environmental impact of Paducah riverfront development.  Senate A&R Committee takes up Medicaid compromise. Three more arrested in connection to December Evrard kidnapping.

TENNESSEE~ TVA invites people to come tour a nuclear plant. Bill to restrict collective bargaining for teachers passes one House committee, goes to another.
