It’s Monday, March 14.

Waterfowl and eagle refuge areas closed since November reopen Wednesday in Land Between the Lakes.  These include Rushing Bay, Duncan Bay and Lake, Smith Bay, Fulton/Honker Bay, Honker Lake Refuge, Long Creek Waterfowl Refuge and portions of Energy Lake.  Hematite Lake opens Wednesday for bank fishing only.

Angels Attic Thrift Shop, which provides support for the Angel’s community clinic, seeks inventory.  Angels Attic can resell furniture, clothing, appliances, toys, books, CDs, DVDs, and household items.  Donation hours are 8 to 5 Monday through Saturday; shopping hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The shop’s at 972 Chestnut in Murray.

Paducah was named one of the  2011 Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Through tomorrow there’s online voting to determine a favorite. Voting for Paducah is available by registering and making your mark at www.PreservationNation.org/ddd.
