It’s Wednesday, January 12.

Tonight the Winter Residency Reading of the Murray State MFA in Creative Writing features MSU’s faculty member Martin Roper, author of the novel, Gone.  Roper is the Watkins Chair in Creative Writing-Fiction.  Also, he directs the Irish Writing Program in Dublin, Ireland.  Roper’s reading begins at 7:30 p.m. in Clara Eagle Gallery, 6th Floor, Price Doyle Fine Arts Building.

West Kentucky Community and Technical College announces a new class:  learn bass fishing from a pro with seasoned tournament angler Mark Menendez.  The class meets Tuesday evenings, starting next Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center on the Blandville Road campus in Paducah.  Sign up for the class at 270-534-3335.  The cost is $65 per person including free lures.

The City of Cadiz and City Council honors Ft. Campbell Soldiers who have given their lives for the nation with “A Day of Mourning” ceremony Friday at 11 a.m. in front of City Hall.
