Datebook: November 18 – Mickey Mouse turns 82

It’s Thursday, November 18.

Saturday there’s a panel discussion on African Americans at Fort Donelson, Fort Henry, and “Between the Rivers” from 1 to 3 p.m.  It’s at Emmanuel Family Life Center, 303 Fairview Lane in Clarksville.  It begins a collaborative project involving quilters to design a series of quilts for a travelling exhibit next February.  LBL, Fort Donelson, and Houston County Historical Society speakers join the panel.

2009 America’s Got Talent winner Kevin Skinner headlines an Abby Mott Benefit Concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at Murray State’s Lovett Auditorium.  Doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10.  Abby Mott is a first grade student at Murray’s Southwest Elementary School who is currently receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Easter Seals West Kentucky opens viewing for its Holiday Wreath Silent Auction and Competition Saturday at Downtown Coffee Bar, 426 Broadway, Saturday.  The one of a kind wreaths made by artists, businesses and other individuals are on display for bidding through December 3.
