It’s Wednesday, October 13.

Hear music of the Japanese Shamisen, a traditional three stringed lute, tonight at 7:30 in Performing Arts Hall of Doyle Fine Arts Center near 15th and Olive in Murray.  The duo Yutaka Oyama and Masahiro Nitto perform classic and original scores.  The concert is free.

The Purchase Area Development District’s Family Caregiver Programs offer a workshop with Ombudsman Denise Adams about preparing for long-term care placement.  It’s tomorrow from ten to noon at the PADD office, 1002 Medical Drive in Mayfield.

The Kentucky Opry hosts the Gibson Brothers featuring Clayton Campbell on fiddle at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  The Gibson Brothers are nominees for IBMA Vocal Group of the year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Inspirational Song of the Year.  See kentuckyopry.com.

Janice Mason Art Museum opens a new exhibition, Kenneth Weedman Sculpture Friday with a reception starting at 6.  Weedman’s plastic sculptures full of light, color and playful shapes.  The Museum is at 71 Main Street in Cadiz.
