It’s Wednesday, October 6.

Friday and Saturday bring nationally acclaimed entertainers to the Grand Rivers Story Telling Weekend at the  Badgett Playhouse complementing the  Hunter’s Moon Festival.  Michael Reno Harrell and Mitch Capel, aka “Gran’ Daddy June Bug” tell stories and sing songs starting at 7 p.m. both nights, with new material nightly.  Reserve tickets at 888-362-4223.

Hickman County’s 20th Annual Civil War Days are at Columbus Belmont State Park Friday through Sunday.  Opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. Friday include a cannon volley and ghost walk.  Civil War Camps and Shops open at 10 a.m. Saturday with Chautauqua speakers at 11:30 and Noon.  There are civil war battlefield skirmishes at 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Country artist Josh Turner plays the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts at Madisonville Community College tomorrow night.  National Heritage Fellow, thumbpicking Eddie Pennington opens the show at 7:30.  Call the Glema Center box office at 270-821-ARTS for tickets.
