The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts at Madisonville Community College offers an acting improvisation workshop this evening from 6:30 to 8.  It’s free and will emphasize comedy with reference to the comic scenes in Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest, performed at the center last night by Cambridge University students touring the nation.

This is Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness Month.  More than 70,000 Americans are being treated for Sickle Cell Anemia and each requires frequent transfusions.  The American Red Cross collects blood from 9 to 3 tomorrow at Baptist Campus Ministries, 800 Waldrop Drive in Murray.  Call 800-Red Cross for an advance appointment.

The Purchase Players present The Foreigner this weekend at the Community Performing Arts Center, 9th and Water in Mayfield.  Shows are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday.  It’s a farce based on the misinformation that one of the characters cannot understand the English language.

Thank you for listening and for adding your contribution to your public radio home’s fundraising efforts now.  It’s very easy and secure at wkms.org.
