President Obama’s tour bus will run across rough political terrain in North Carolina this year.

NPR reports the Obama campaign tour starts in North Carolina, but may meet more resistance this time than last.

Kentucky~ Two hung juries fueled frustration in the western part of the state.  Employment offices will match you to your job. Floridian doctors are feeding the pill problem. Beshear is pushing for other democratic candidates. Beshear beating Williams in state employee race.

Illinois~ Gov Quinn says catching up on bills will help the state economy.

Tennessee~ A Clarksville man was killed standing in the road looking at a cell phone. You need a permit to burn till next summer. The state will give money for energy efficiency.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II addresses the Arab Spring and Jordan’s need for a middle class.

NPR reports the King has entered the fray surrounding the Palestinian debate and has assured Jordanians that elections will be forthcoming.

Kentucky~ A Man is re-indicted for setting a deadly 1998 MSU fire.  Fulton may be losing its EMS services. The battle for Instant Racing continues.  Student test scores will soon be released.

Tennessee~ Bridgestone is expanding its Clarksville facilities.   Two state budgeting officials are leaving their positions. Lawmakers are attempting to change the Judiciary Court Commission’s power. Tennessee will be among many states determining science curriculum.

A T-Rex is now united with a long lost rib.

NPR reports the first complete Tyranasaurus Rex skeleton discovered in 1902 has been without a rib since the second world war. That is until now.

Western Kentucky and Tennessee are eyeing river port development.

Kentucky~ A fatal accident closed I-24 in McCracken yesterday. A Judge says kidnapping case stays in McCracken. If you need eye surgery, an optometrist can do it.

Illinois~ Those who were adopted will be able to see their original birth certificate. There are more poor people in the state. Gov Quinn says casinos could hurt education. Lt Gov Simon says she opposes utility rate increases.

Tennessee~ A Clarksville women’s clinic is getting bigger. Harwell hit back on voter ID comments.

Areas of Northern Japan may be hazardous for years.

NPR reports areas around the Fukushima power plant may be uninhabitable for a long time.

Kentucky~  Murray State was named to the World’s Best Colleges list for the 21st time in a row.  Nine Amish men are going to jail in Graves County. WKCTC named one of the 10 best Community Colleges in the nation. Bill Monroe’s birthday is today and they’re celebrating big time at the International Bluegrass Museum. The Commonwealth focuses on cleaning up next week.

Tennessee~ Clarksville announces a transitional house for homeless veterans. The Tennessee State Library has discovered documents from white soldiers serving in a black regiment in the Civil War.

America waits in expectation for Obama’s job plan.

NPR reports Americans are skeptical amidst the economic climate and are waiting to see the President’s next move.

Kentucky~ Madisonville officials consider a bump in tax rates. McCracken County is getting a visit from gubernatorial hopefuls, but not Governor Beshear. The parent company of the Wickliffe paper mill files for bankruptcy.

Tennessee~ Clarksville’s Farmers Market named the best in the state.

Illinois~ Governor Quinn considers cuts to the parole system to help balance the state’s budget.

Job growth has come to a halt, and unemployment remains high.

NPR reports there was no job growth during the month of August, and President Obama is slated to present a new jobs plan amid a divided government.

Kentucky~ Murray State lost to Louisville (but maybe they beat the spread). A man is missing in the Tennessee River. School power bills are high. Sandhill Crane hunting passes the fed. A soldier is honored for catching bandit.

Illinois~ Brookport has a Chief in training.

As Irene ramps up for landfall, the East Coast braces for a wild ride.

NPR reports Irene has weakened slightly but set its sights on North Carolina and the rest of the Eastern Seaboard.

Kentucky~ Murray High School and Calloway County duke it out tonight. Murray State’s Board of Regents discusses the schools diversity plan in Hopkinsville.  Paducah and McCracken County consider tying the knot.  Local counties step into the Apple-age with eWarrants. This year doesn’t look good for the tobacco crop.

Tennessee~  Clarksville”s City Council stands up to the Mayor over her last minute votes.

Many students drop-out regardless of interventions.

NPR reports that despite concerted efforts to keep some students from dropping out of school, many do so anyway.

Kentucky~ Paducah will take funds for the Greenway trail. Paducah also gets a new Renaissance Director. A Henderson County man is charged in paper carrier death. A Murray State football player is headed to the NFL. A man escaped jail and the immigration police (sneaky, sneaky). State politicians disagree on the US debt crisis solution (you don’t say). Officials debate the rights of the homeless to vote, though most don’t anyway.

Tennessee~ Clarksville school’s will be rezoned. Reelfoot Lake advertises its sunsets (they must be pretty).

Could over-dependency on GPS guidance systems lead you to your death?

NPR reports that sometimes GPS systems are wrong, and when that happens in the wrong place, it could end up being fatal.

Kentucky~ No smoking in Murray schools (not even in the boys room). A Symsonia woman died in a car accident. KY 121 Bypass is closed in Mayfield. Trials begin today for Fort Campbell soldier. State officials are meeting to figure out the finances (good luck). The state pays too much for meds too. More homes are empty throughout the state.

Illinois~ Papayas can make you sick.

Tennessee~ Clarksville water tastes “earthy” (yum). A Henry County man drowned in Kentucky Lake. The state gets more money for education.

The so-called ‘Gang of Six’ presented their proposal to Senate members yesterday, and hope abounds that it may appeal across party lines.

NPR reports a bi-partisan group of six senators has developed a proposal for raising the debt ceiling, cutting the deficit, and raising revenue that is getting positive reviews across the board.

Kentucky~ Men charged with attempted murder say “it wasn’t me”. Calloway County is getting emergency funds. Homebuyers, Hopkinsville wants you. Many downtown areas look at revitalization. Corn is growing strong.

Tennessee~ International businesses, Clarksville wants you.

Illinois~ Honeywell and union have reached an agreement (WHA?!?!).
