Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah raises laughs and funds for the American Red Cross Recovery efforts in Japan. Tickets are $10 for Stand-Up for Humanity at 7 p.m. tomorrow featuring local stand-up talent along with headliner and Star Search contestant Tim Northern of Nashville.
The Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass partner with DC Electric Company’s Relay for Life Team in a fundraising fish fry at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Kentucky Opry Building in Draffenville. After dinner hear bands like The McKendrees and Uncle Mike and the Pea Snappers. Tickets for the dinner are $7.50 per person.
Near Henderson Audubon State Park’s Annual Wildflower Extravaganza is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There’s a guided wildflower walk at 9 and another at 11. At noon there’s a wildflower Scavenger Hunt for children ages 3 to 5 with parents. Another wildflower walk follows at 1 and at 2 p.m. learn about birdscaping, or landscaping to attract birds.
