The Kentucky Gambling Issue
– John Dillon
Well, shoot yourself in the foot again. Despite the calls of Gov. Beshear of Kentucky, there is small chance that “casino gambling” will take root in the Commonwealth anytime soon.
Seems that two-thirds of legislators are against it. But yet it could reap a couple of million a year for a state that desperately needs it.
We’re not asking for sales of cocaine to kids, here. Those who wish to gamble beyond a simple horse-track or lottery ticket must now go to adjoining states to do so. And that cash goes to …. those nearby states. Not K-Y.
Ease up, guys. Allow (regulated) casino gambling here — people are doing it anyway, it’s just that the proceeds are going to Indiana and other states that are less prohibitive. We need the dough here!!
