Glad you could join us for our wacky adventures in blogging. Speaking as a member of the gang, we’re an eclectic bunch, both in taste, style, and in our approaches to life.
I’m part of the intrepid news team, so expect a lot of posts here that delve further into a story I might be producing or which give insight into a different angle than what ended up on air. At times, I may choose to post a kind of “reporter’s notebook” with my personal experience covering a story. And watch out, I might surprise you with tangents and oddball gems.
For now, here are a few random things about me: I like frogs; my favorite band is The Decemberists; I have read Moby Dick, but I haven’t read War and Peace; the weirdest thing I have ever eaten is a century egg.

Welcome to your backyard blog-0-sphere! Some of us are prepping to begin posting away with opinions and insights about issues we care about, and (since we’re practically neighbors) maybe you will to. First, get to know me.
Introducing myself: heyo! I’m Chris Taylor, a Murray-dwelling young adult, currently scraping a living as a Morning Edition News Producer @ west Kentucky’s (best) NPR-affiliate. That means I get up earlier than you (likely), but not as early as Todd (ha!).
I’ll probably be posting week-daily about the news (more likely). Sentences are good. I like parentheses, too; expect to see those (most likely).
Okay, enough fun. My interests (of which, may/may not be what I blog about) go!! >> parenting, cooking, biking, disc golf(ing), gaming, newsing, and breathing (you too!?).
See ya (bye).

Busy week in Frankfort. Governor Steve Beshear has a press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern time with State Budget Director Mary Lassiter to make budget reduction and education announcements. Then, we have the opening of the 2010 session of the Kentucky General Assembly with Governor Beshear presenting his State of the Commonwealth address Wednesday, January 6th at 7 p.m. Eastern.

On behalf of all of us here at WKMS, WKMS News, and our contributors, I’d like to welcome you to The Front Blog, a companion blog to the news and information programming you hear on 91-3.
As you may have noticed, we’re still in process with all of this, learning what this platform can do along with discovering the kind of content you want to see here. We will, however, continue to do our best in providing the level of regional coverage and discussion you’ve come to expect from us.
So, we hope that you’ll come by often and take a look at what’s here; excellent writing, audio, and video providing insight, spurring conversation, and provoking thought about our world, our nation, and our Four Rivers region.
Thanks again, and hurry back!
